Since it was created in 2006, SWITRECORDS’ true target is to carry out two main activities in the Jazz field that very rarely go altogether.

In one hand, it’s an independent label which publishes the recordings in which Ignasi Terraza is directly involved, the same as those of other jazzmen whose creative and artistic line we like.

And in the other, SWITRECORDS promotes in an agency and management labour a selection of Jazz musicians, bringing them an on stage exposure both in the domestic and the international scene.

NOTA DE PREMSA

Night Sounds Blues

Toni Solà & Ignasi Terraza Trio

“From Paris With Love”, the latest film starring John Travolta and directed by Pierre Morell, was premiered in the United States on Friday 5th February and will soon be on release in our country. The soundtrack of this spy and action movie features the song “Night Sounds Blues” by saxophonist Toni Solà and Ignasi Terraza Trio. The number comes from the album of the same name, recorded ten years ago by Toni Solà, Ignasi Terraza, Oriol Bordas and Manuel Alvarez, and released under the SWITRECORDS label.

The song provides the musical backdrop to a pivotal scene in which John Travolta, who is chatting away at a party, suddenly turns up the volume on the music system so that others cannot hear what he is saying. And so the audience gets to listen to Toni Solà and Ignasi Terraza Trío’s music for a while. As the song comes to a close, there is a twist in the plot that will turn out to be key to the film’s final outcome.

The surprising fact that a Franco-American production would choose for its soundtrack a jazz group from our country that expresses itself in the universal language of jazz, rather than opting for the cliché of flamenco, says a great deal about the standard of our musicians today and their growing international recognition.

Toni Solà & Ignasi Terraza Trio are preparing a series of live concerts to celebrate the occasion, with Toni Solà on saxophone, Ignasi Terraza on piano, Manuel Álvarez on double bass and Jean Pierre Derouard on drums.
